About CareNavIQ
Most people find out what their care costs after they get it. CareNavIQ shows the prices hospitals publish so you can compare before you go.
Who it’s for
- Patients and families comparing hospitals for a scan, a test or a procedure, with insurance or paying themselves.
- Physicians who want to understand what insurers pay for the care they provide. A physician area is planned.
- Employers checking what their health plans pay at local hospitals. An employer area is planned.
Where we are
CareNavIQ is built for the whole U.S. market. We’re starting with Washington hospitals and adding states as we check each one’s price files.
Where the prices come from
Since 2021, federal rules (45 CFR Part 180) require every U.S. hospital to publish its prices, including the rates it has negotiated with each insurer. We collect those files, check them, and label every price with who it applies to. Traditional Medicare averages come from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. See how prices work.
What we stand for
- Plain language. Prices explained the way you’d explain them to a friend.
- Honest labels. A Medicare rate is never shown as an insurance price, and missing prices say so.
- Privacy. No accounts and no tracking. See our privacy page.
