Terms of use
CareNavIQ helps you compare what U.S. hospitals say they charge, starting with Washington state. By using the site you agree to these terms.
What the prices are
- Prices come from files hospitals are required to publish (45 CFR Part 180) and from Medicare data published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. We show them as published, grouped by who they apply to: a specific insurance type, cash payers, or the hospital’s list price.
- They are not a quote or a bill. What you pay depends on your plan, deductible, coinsurance, the doctors involved, and the care you actually receive. Ask the hospital and your insurer for an estimate before you get care.
- Hospitals sometimes publish incomplete, outdated or incorrect prices. We check the files and skip values that are clearly wrong, but we can’t guarantee every price is accurate or current. Each price shows its source date where the hospital gave one.
- Traditional Medicare averages apply only to people on original Medicare. They are shown separately and are not commercial insurance prices.
Not medical, legal or financial advice
CareNavIQ is for information only. It doesn’t recommend a hospital, treatment or insurer. Decisions about your care belong with you and your health care providers. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Don’t delay emergency care to compare prices.
Using the site
You may use the site and the prices on it for personal and non-commercial purposes. Please don’t try to disrupt the site, get around its security, or send automated traffic heavy enough to slow it down for others. The hospital data itself is public; if you want it in bulk, the original files are available from each hospital.
No warranty
The site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, CareNavIQ isn’t liable for any loss or damage from using the site or relying on its prices.
Privacy
We don’t use accounts or set cookies. See the Privacy page for what our server logs record.
